16. Don’t fight the backpack. The backpack always wins.
17. Boots off midday – socks too. Feet up if possible. Do this while drinking something delicious.
18. As soon as you feel a twinge in your muscles or a hot spot on your foot – STOP. Drink a lot of water. Better in 15 minutes. I’m here to tell you.
19. First available bed. Take it.
20. You get stronger. It gets easier. The blisters end.
